Since 2005, Sam Terese MBA, MT (ASCP), has served as a member of the senior executive team of Alverno and as CEO & President since 2011. He has over 40 years of healthcare leadership experience that include community hospitals, academic medical centers, and research-based organizations.


Sam facilitated the testing integration of multiple hospital laboratories and innovation efforts at Alverno’s central laboratory in Hammond, IN. Terese’s skills include business development, marketing, financial, planning, strategic planning, and other management tools along with being well versed in quality assurance practices, principles of Lean, Six Sigma, developing teams, and laboratory operations and health system operations.

He holds Six Sigma black belt, an M.B.A. from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Strategic Planning and Marketing, and bachelor’s degrees in Medical Technology from Rosalind Franklin University Chicago and Biology from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Wes Henderson, Founder of True Story and Angel’s Envy Whiskies, has pioneered groundbreaking spirits, distilleries, and tourism destinations. Angel’s Envy, under his leadership, became the most successful Kentucky Bourbon start-up in modern history, introducing award-winning whiskeys and pioneering secondary barrel finishes for American whiskies.

Before founding these brands, Wes spent over 30 years as a “serial entrepreneur,” starting in the mailroom at Brown-Forman and eventually serving as CEO of Master Distiller’s Select and Conecuh Ridge Distillery. He also co-founded Papa’s Pilar Rum and led the creation of multiple beverage brands, generating billions in value.Wes is also a Death Investigator with the Oldham County Coroner’s Office, handling violent and unexplained deaths. He has served on disaster response teams, tackling incidents like Hurricane Katrina and fatal tornadoes in Kentucky. A former firefighter, he was also part of a Hazardous Materials and WMD Task Force.
